The Nutrition of the Mouse. VI. Growth Rates of Two Strains on Stock Rations and on Purified Diets *

چکیده
When we began a study of the nutritional requirements of highly inbred strains of mice, the immediate problem facing us was the selection of a suitable stock ration. Many such feeds are commercially available, but advertising claims would lead one to regard most of them as equally superb. To gain some information on this matter we studied the growth rates of two strains of mice on various stock rations. Since these studies were carried out over a period of several months and since the procedure of maintaining the colony had not been completely standardized, it was deemed advisable to select as point of reference a synthetic diet whose composition could be exactly duplicated month after month. Since the information obtained might be of interest to others dealing with mice, it was decided to report these results.

Comparison of the effects of feeding two different diets on the growth rates and survival of Zebrafish (Danio rerio)
The aim of this study was to compare the effects of feeding two different diets on the growth rate and survival of zebrafish in order to produce resistant and better-quality fish. For this purpose, two experimental diets with different levels of protein and fat were given to zebrafish (20 days old) five times a day for a period of 70 days (10 weeks). The results of this research showed that fee...
متن کاملFeeding of Safflower (Carthamus tintorius) Cake in Small Ruminant Total Mixed Rations: Effects on Growth Traits and Meat Fatty Acid Composition
Little scientific information is available that has evaluated safflower (Carthamus tinctorius) cake as a substitute to conventional ingredients in small ruminants diet. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of feeding safflower cake in total mixed rations (TMRs) on lamb and kid growth rates, carcass traits and meat fatty acid composition. Two consecutive trials were conducted us...
